Americane and Americane Condensed, a superfamily by Hannes von Döhren of 24 fonts – published by HVD Fonts.
This new superfamily from HVD Fonts currently consists of Americane (the basic version) and Americane Condensed. Hannes von Döhren‘s inspiration came from old wood type specimen books. His aim was to develop a typeface that is reminiscent of the handcrafted values from these early lettering pioneers. In addition, the font should have all current opportunities of a modern typeface.
Both styles, the basic version as well as the condensed version form a superfamily that includes 24 fonts in total. Their 6 weights ranging from Light to Black and of course there are also matching italics for each weight. This sans serif typeface is made for professional typography. The OpenType font versions are equipped with 5 different numerals, several alternate letters and arrows. The extended character set supports Central and Eastern European as well as Western European languages. Both current widths of this superfamily are available as webfont and desktop font.
