Catalina, a hand-drawn superfamily by Kimmy Kirkwood.
After visiting a bakery in Newport Beach, CA, type designer Kimmy Kirkwood fell in love with the organic design and typography of this place. With this inspiration in mind, Kimmy Kirkwood decided to create Catalina, a hand-drawn superfamily that includes 5 different font families and 2 graphic ornament fonts.
Catalina Anacapa is a tall and skinny typeface. This family includes 3 weights for both sans and slab serif styles. In addition, the font family is equipped with several contextual alternatives and stylistic alternatives as well as small caps.
The Catalina Avalon sub family is based on Anacapa but with a high contrasting line weight. It includes a light, regular, and bold version as well as an inline alternative for both sans and slab serif styles. It also comes with contextual alternatives, stylistic alternatives and small caps for each letter.
Catalina Clemente can be used for paragraph text and headlines. Its more geometric style comes in all caps and lowercase. In addition it includes upright as well as custom italics.
Catalina Script adds a hand-drawn cursive touch to the whole superfamily. It is equipped with contextual alternatives as well as stylistic alternatives for numerous capital and lowercase letters. In addition, it comes with special ligatures for some letter combinations, and titling alternatives for all the capital letters.
Catalina Typewriter is also well suited for paragraph text and headlines. This typewriter inspired hand-drawn typeface includes different contextual alternatives and comes in both upright as well as custom italic versions.
Catalina Extras comes with countless borders, frames, arrows, banners, flourishes, etc. Catalina Flourish has all of it’s options in a light and bold style. To use the light version type all in lowercase letters, and to make something bold use the uppercase characters.
